About the Artist

Mike Dorman is a fine art photographer and mixed media artist creating statement artwork for design-conscious collectors and modern interiors.

His work spans cinematic portraiture, contemplative landscapes, black-and-white studies, and surreal conceptual imagery. While some works remain rooted in pure photography, others incorporate mixed media processes that allow the final piece to move beyond documentation into interpretation—blending reality with imagination to create images that feel both familiar and dreamlike. His black-and-white work emphasizes form, texture, and timelessness, while his mixed media and color work lean into emotional palettes and layered visual symbolism to heighten mood and narrative depth.

His work is rooted in the belief that the strongest images do not explain everything. Instead, they suggest. They invite the viewer to pause, to wonder, and to bring their own experiences and emotions into the frame.

Taiwan holds a personal place in his work. Having lived there, studied Mandarin, and remained deeply influenced by its culture and people, Mike returns whenever he can. His Taiwan street photography reflects that connection, capturing quiet gestures, layered streets, daily rhythms, and human moments that continue to influence his work and life.

Each artwork is produced using gallery-quality archival materials through WhiteWall—the same professional lab Mike uses for his gallery exhibitions—ensuring every print meets the standards of serious collectors and design professionals.

Artist Philosophy

“I create artwork that suggests rather than explains.
My goal is to make images that linger—pieces that evoke atmosphere, emotion, and personal interpretation long after first glance.”

Whether collected for a private home, design project, or curated art collection, Mike’s work is created to transform interiors into spaces of reflection, atmosphere, and presence.
